SAN FRANCISCO – September 3, 2008 – Splunk, the IT Search company, today announced that Godfrey Sullivan, former President and CEO of Hyperion Solutions- has agreed to join Splunk as President and CEO and will join the board of directors. Sullivan joined Hyperion Solutions in 2001 as president and COO and served as president and CEO from 2004 until its acquisition by Oracle in 2007.

Managing our growth is the biggest challenge we face and he has the experience to help us continue to scale quickly,“ said Michael Baum, co-founder of Splunk. Michael co-founded Splunk in 2004 and has been CEO since, growing the company to 150 employees and more than 750 customers worldwide. He will assume the role of Chief Corporate and Business Development Officer and will continue to serve on Splunk’s board of directors.

During Sullivan’s tenure at Hyperion, the company defined and led the enterprise performance management software category, doubled revenue to nearly $1 billion, was acquired for over $3 billion, and was recognized as one of the Fortune Top 100 places to work. Prior to Hyperion, Sullivan was CEO of Promptu Corp., and spent eight years at Autodesk in senior management positions. He recently joined the board of directors of Informatica, and is also on the board of Citrix Systems.
